JUNIOR PROGRAM

James  Preston is Chairman of the Florida Junior Program. Jim can be reached at james628@aol.com, telephone 813-689-0716. Florida has 981 Juniors. Bradford Colony has 197 Juniors, Standish Colony has 186 Juniors and Tilley has 147. Forty-two juniors will age out this year.

Florida Juniors must file application before age 25 to get membership application benefit. If not, they must apply as regular prospective member. (link to application)

 

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Florida Society offers a $1,500 educational scholarship to a twelfth grade student who is a citizen of the United States and a descendant from a Mayflower Passenger.  The applicant must have a proven ancestry to a Mayflower passenger, and the sponsoring relative must be a member of the Florida Society.  An unweighted GPA of at least 3.0 and the completion of a 400-600 word essay on the Pilgrims are required.

The application and essay need to be submitted to Laura Brock and postmarked by April 1, 2012.

EDUCATION PROGRAM

The chairman of the Education Program in the State of Florida is Clara Powell.  Clara is available to train colonies to provide programs in their local communities and provide resources to assist with those programs.  Clara may be reached at MayflowerPowell@aol.com.
