SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

2020 Duxbury FINAL Advance Book Offer for June 1

May 2020 - Only several weeks left to order an advance copy of "Duxbury 2020 - Our Pilgrim Story ". Published by the Alden Kindred of America, Duxbury Rural & Historical Society, and Duxbury 2020, Inc., the advance offer is extended until June 1 by mail only at $20.20 per copy plus tax.

The 2020 essay collection will lead you through an adventure about Duxbury before its formation through the insight of 12 authors - each with a perspective about the early settlers who in the words of William Bradford settled "Across the Bay".

Mayflower descendants and folks who live in Duxbury are very attuned to early Pilgrim history. It's in Duxbury DNA - places such as Millbrook named after the Millbrook Dam, the Bluefish River, Myles Standish Monument, the Old Burying Ground (final resting place of Alden's, Standish's and others), and property of John and Priscilla Alden in continuous land ownership by Alden's since the 1600's.

In this collection you will learn about how deed research is challenging our understanding of when settlers actually arrived. You will delight in conversation about "Priscilla and Her Children". And, you will better understand cultural misconceptions in "Backstory to Colonization".

The $20.20 advance offer is available only by mail. Please make your check payable to Duxbury 2020, Inc., PO Box 2407, Duxbury, MA 02331. Yours in History, Duxbury 2020, Inc.,
